After a run, it is very important to take the time to stretch out. You might get away with not doing it for a little while but long term avoidance of your stretches may result in an increased risk of injury.
How to stretch after a run: Hold each stretch for approximately 10 seconds and ALWAYS repeat on both sides. Do your stretches by a wall or chair if you can, to steady yourself.
